Review

Mateo was an up and coming boxer who had the skills and drive to succeed until he was backed into a corner and a difficult decision needed to be made. He knew that when he made the choice he did it would torpedo his career, but he was willing to do it anyway.

Julep and her brother are trying to keep the gym that they inherited viable but when their fighter leaves they need to replace him and quickly. She knows that Mateo could bring them success but based on his background he could bring them down as well.

From the moment she approaches him with her offer they have an instant chemistry. For Mateo it is a second chance to right the wrongs of the past and for Julep it means ensuring her father’s dream lives on. In order for both of them to reach their goals they should keep their relationship strictly business but that is easier said then done especially when the past may be about to repeat itself.

I enjoyed both these characters as Mateo feels deeply and only wants to help those he loves while Julep is determined to succeed and the connection between them went far deeper than the physical. This is a sports romance about new beginnings filled with emotion and heat.
