Penn has never been the same since the passing of his wife. Not only was it violent and traumatic but he had to witness it all the while being powerless to help. The anguish, guilt and grief remain with him years later.
What Cora has had to endure and still endures would have destroyed any other person. She continues to present a positive persona and has a strength like no other. She is unconcerned about what happens to her, but she will do anything to help those she is closest to even if it means harm to herself.
From the moment they met they have a connection that goes far beyond the physical. They want to forge a meaningful bond but they each have secrets and in order to protect the other they guard them closely but lies can only be concealed for so long and the aftereffects can be far reaching.
This story leads you on a twisty journey filled with emotion, angst, darkness and a love too strong to deny. The characters are addictive and they draw you in page by page until you feel that you are experiencing what they are experiencing. I need more Penn and Cora and the second part of the duet can’t come fast enough.
