Kai’s relationship with his father was always confrontational but it reaches a breaking point when he is 17 and he leaves to become a paramedic far away from his father even if he does miss his family and his home. When his father’s health issues escalate he returns to come home to assist.
Nicole is the nurse who is looking after Max’s father. She doesn’t have an easy life and circumstances have backed her into doing something she would rather not do to help out those she loves.
Kai believes that she is not being truthful, and Nicole feels guilt for what she is having to do but it doesn’t stop the attraction they feel for each other. Will the secret Nicole holds destroy their relationship or will she confess what she is doing and why?
This is the beginning a new series featuring the Rockwell family and it gets off to a great start. Hot chemistry, humorous banter and the sense of family makes this an enjoyable story. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
