Jake lives next door to Poppy and her boyfriend Tyson. At one point, Tyson was his friend however that ended after hearing the way he treated Poppy. He believed the fights were only verbal until she came to him beaten and bruised looking for help.

He takes her to the Last Resort Motel so that she can heal both physically and emotionally without anyone finding them but before they leave will he be able to convince her that they belong together?

There was no denying the connection and chemistry between them and I liked how being with Jake allowed Poppy’s sassy personality to re-emerge and Jake was so patient as she healed. This story packed a powerful storyline for the length.
