nominee Joanne Rock has never met a romance sub-genre she didn’t like. The author
of over eighty books enjoys writing a wide range of stories, most recently
focusing on sexy contemporaries and small town family sagas. An optimist by
nature and perpetual seeker of silver linings, Joanne finds romance fits her
life outlook perfectly–love is worth fighting for. A frequent speaker at
regional and national writing conferences she enjoys giving back to the writing
community that nurtured and inspired her early career. She has a Masters degree

skills to her intensive study with friend and fellow author Catherine Mann.

Calvin is a professional baseball player who had a great season last year but his batting numbers this year have declined. He is cut from the team and it became a case of what have you done for me lately so he returns to his hometown to re-evaluate his future.
Josie ends up in Last Stand, Texas and she is looking after Calvin’s mother’s home while she is on a mission. This gives her a chance to not only recover financially but to see what fallout occurs because of her past.
She wasn’t expecting Calvin to arrive at his mother’s home in the middle of the night planning to stay while she mistakes him for an intruder. It was only a matter of time before the chemistry between them ignites but will her past destroy what they could have in the future?
Josie is a good person who was stuck in a bad situation and was running out of options while Cal is facing the loss of his dream so sometimes he tended to react without thinking. I enjoyed this story and would like to read stories about the Ramsey siblings as well.
