BLURB

A cop with a shady past falls for his boss, the straight-laced captain of his department. Ride-alongs turn into one long flirtation of stolen moments.

At a measly five foot three, Captain Oakley Waldo seemed just fine riding solo at work and in her personal life. But when I accidentally burst in on her in a, shall we say, compromising position, she’ll have to work double time to keep the tension between us at a low simmer.

My mission as her new partner? To bring out the wild woman I know is there underneath the starched uniform. Only problem is, she seems dead set on discovering the past I vowed to keep hidden away.

With stolen moments of forbidden passion in between arrests, creative uses for those handcuffs, and four meddling sisters who won’t butt out of Oakley’s life, this law enforcement partnership is set to explode!

EXCERPT

He stood, crowding me, looking down with a gaze that held something I couldn’t quite put my finger on. “That’s the first thing that attracted me to you. As your partner,” he clarified. “Your honesty and integrity.”
My heart fluttered a mile a minute, a fact I was sure he could hear in the quiet of his house. If a teasing Wyatt was hard to deal with, intense shirtless Wyatt was even harder to resist.
“Sure it wasn’t seeing me in my birthday suit?” I sputtered out as a joke. A really stupid one, as it turned out. Bringing up that moment when Wyatt saw me in my most vulnerable state was not something to bring up when we were alone again. Everyone in my family knew my lack of ability to tell jokes. This was a prime example.
Wyatt came impossibly closer and my head tipped back further. His eyes looked positively on fire as his gaze flickered down to my mouth. A single finger came up to flick the tiny strap of my top. That finger stayed on my skin, trailing along the hemline of my shirt, across my chest and up my throat, leaving a line of goose bumps in its wake. My thighs clenched together, trying to stave off the zings of pleasure that had me thinking of doing something very, very stupid.

Oakley is following the family tradition of law enforcement however she is determined to forge her own path. She is Captain at the Sheriff’s department and doesn’t believe she needs a partner either personally or professionally, but her employers have other ideas.

Wyatt needs to put some distance between him and his past so he has joined the Sheriff’s department and is Oakley’s new co-worker. He wants to keep his secrets but that may be easier said than done when relationships, either personal or professional, require faith if they are going to survive.

The interactions between Oakley and Wyatt are both humorous and hot. Not only are they great characters but there is a great cast of secondary characters that enhance the story.
