This is my last chance to ditch my playboy reputation and finally fulfill my potential. So I’ve made three rules for our biggest season yet: no boozing, no women, and no scandals.

Especially that last thing.

So who do I befriend on the very first day back at the rink? An amazing female hockey player. I want Sylvie in a way that’s more than just friendly. I crave her. But I have a championship to win, and so does she.

Sylvie has just endured a personal loss so the opportunity to play the backup goalie for the professional women’s hockey team in NY not only couldn’t have come at a better time, but it is the opportunity she always wanted but never thought she would have. Not only does she get to play the sport that has always been such an important part of her life but it will allow her to be with the man who she shares a past with and would like a future with. The only problem is that they aren’t getting any closer, but she is getting closer to his teammate and friend Anton.

Entering the final year of his contract Anton knows how important this year is for his career. He is focused on his performance on the ice and is determined to keep the theatrics off the ice to a minimum. Before he knew of Sylvie’s past with a fellow teammate the sparks flew and although he should keep his distance that is proving to be a challenge he can’t meet.

Sylvie and Anton are strong characters who are so supportive of each other and their careers. The chemistry between them is intense, their interactions witty and it leaves us wanting more stories set in the world of the Bombshells and the Bruisers. I listed to an audio copy of this story and the narrators gave the story and the characters a vibrancy that enhanced the whole experience.
