Amelie has always known that her future would include an arranged marriage and had made peace with her fate only to face tragedy on her wedding day and find out she must marry the brother of the man she expected to marry. Their marriage gets off to a dangerous start but just when she thinks they might be able to make it real she sees her husband’s dark side and it will take all the strength she has to overcome what he has planned for her.
Luca is the perfect combination of sexy and sinful. He is willing to do right by his family and take Amelie as his wife, but he wasn’t prepared for the feelings she would inspire in him. Desperate times call for desperate measures and when he crosses a dark line, he will do whatever is necessary to reclaim his bride.
Amelie proves that she is no meek mafia wife but a force to be reckoned with while Luca has two very different sides that will at times will have you despising him and at times will have you desiring him. The narrators were a perfect choice for the characters as they bring out the suspense of the story and the emotional depth of the characters.
