She is still trying to heal from a disastrous marriage so the last thing she needs is to get involved with Sam, her mother’s renter, however to avoid her mother’s matchmaking attempts they decide to pretend to be a couple.

Preston moved to Vermont and started a construction company with his best friend when his family failed to support him when he needed someone the most. He is attracted to Rosalie but also knows she isn’t ready to return the feelings he has for her so he is more than happy to pretend they are together while he convinces her that they should be.
