In this duet we realize that the persona that Leon shows to the world at large is a faรงade to cover his inner turmoil and need for revenge that been escalating for the last decade. When chance brings Macie into his life, he believes that she can be the weapon he needs and if she gets caught in the crossfire it is no more than she deserves.
Macie has been shielded for most of her life, so college is her chance to finally live the life she wants. She has made some good friends but the last thing she needs is to be distracted by a football player. Leon has a way of overcoming any reservations she may have of being with him all the while planning her downfall at the same time.
The characters are compelling and with everything you learn about them you want to know more while some secrets are revealed we know there is still so much more to come. They lead us on a intriguing journey that escalates into a cliffhanger that leaves us wanting to know what the future holds for this couple.
