He shot a quick glance toward her in the passenger seat of his rental. She’d licked her dark mauve colored lipstick from her lips during dinner and she hadn’t reapplied it. The choice of narrators couldn’t have been a better fit for both the characters and the angst of the story.

Vas will do anything for those he cares about which includes how he handles Vera’s father by his own set of rules with no regard to how it impacts anyone else. If this isn’t enough dram than we also have the choices that he is making regarding his health.

Vera once again proves that she has the strength to be Vas’s equal as she knows which battles are worth fighting and which battles she should retreat from. We discover more about her past and what shaped her into the woman she has become.

The love between burns stronger while the emotions blaze higher and leave us needing the conclusion for this series and this compelling couple.
