Leaving his job behind, he is determined to insert himself into his son’s life and be the hands-on father he’s always wanted to be.

But first, he must gain the trust of Diana Nieves.

Diana has everything under control. Mother of two and guardian to Marco’s son, she manages her family, her ex-husband, and the local high school with deft efficiency. Dealing with Marco Rivera though might be more than she can handle.

When the mother of Marcoโ€™s 16 year old son passes away Marco is determined to be there for Ale so he walks away from his professional football career and returns to the US. Ever since her divorce Diane is trying to balance her career as a principal and her teenage daughter Mia and her teenage son Micah.

Diana has been best friends with Marcoโ€™s ex since their children were little and Ale is a huge part of her and her childrenโ€™s lives. Although Marco and Diana are attracted to each other both their lives have undergone a number of changes that they are both trying to adapt to and heal from so they definitely have some challenges to face.

Not only do we get the points of view of Marco and Diana but Ale and Mia as well. On the plus side this does give us some insight into what they were all going through but at times it is also distracting. I did enjoy this story and I would certainly read other books by this author.
