What I meant to do in Vegas: Let my hair down for once and celebrate winning a medal at my first womenâs hockey all-stars competition.
What I actually did: Got senior prom drunk and woke up married to Brooklynâs star winger, the great Neil Drake.
Heâs the heir to a billion dollars, and I barely survived my childhood. Our friendship is based strictly only on hockey, takeout food, and smack talk.
And now holy matrimony. Although we both know it canât last, especially once his evil family gets wind of our Vegas shenanigansâŠ
Contains: Meddling teammates, meddling parents, ugly jewelry, and a pretend-kiss that nearly sets the world on fire.

Charli plays for the womanâs hockey team, and she has fought for everything she has achieved. Her past is difficult, and she has had no support which has left her with trust issues but she continues to preserve despite all the challenges she faces. A few too many drinks and a little too much fun finds her married and all she wants is a way out until her groom convinces her that it could be a win-win for both of them.
Neil is a member of the menâs hockey team who was raised in an affluent lifestyle. Rather than working for the family business he has followed his own dreams which meant playing hockey. He has been attracted to Charli but was never able to ascertain where he stood with her so being married will allow them to get to know each other personally as well as help out with a family matter.
Charli is cautious and is always waiting for the next thing to upend her life while Neil tries to show her that he can be the one person she can count on to be there for her no matter what as they take us on a journey that is romantic, humorous and emotional. The narrators were a perfect choice as they brought the characters and the story to life and make them more relatable.
