Alex is a man who uses his charm to get what he wants but that doesn’t make him any less lethal. From their first meeting he is drawn to Evie in a way he was unprepared for, but he also believes that the inescapable truth is that keeping his distance is the best way to protect her which causes some turmoil.
Evie’s homelife is difficult but rather than lament the position she is in she makes the best choices she can for those she cares about. Those choices at times include an element of danger but she isn’t about to be deterred by anyone and that includes Alex.
Both Alex and Evie are complex characters who have a lot of responsibilities they are carrying. The chemistry between them is intense and your heart will hurt from what they are going through as they take us on a suspenseful journey that leads up to a cliffhanger that leaves us wanting to know how it is all going to unfold.
