As a teenager Juliet escaped a difficult life and found a family with her boyfriend Danny and his family. Even though it was a better situation it still wasn’t ideal and it only became more complicated when Danny’s friend Luke came to spend the summer. She is in turmoil between what she was beginning to want and what others wanted for her until a life changing event turned everything upside down.

Luke is a complicated man who at times seems infuriated by her and at times is her biggest protector and wants more for her future than she can imagine. Circumstances tear them apart and years later they are brought together but will this be their second chance or is the past too much to overcome?

Luke and Juliet take us on an emotional journey of self discovery. As much as the time apart hurt both of them it allowed them to become the people they were meant to be and realize that true happiness is a gift and worth fighting for.

Meet Elizabeth

Elizabeth O’Roark spent many years as a medical writer before publishing her first novel in 2013. She holds bachelor’s degrees in journalism and arts from the University of Texas, and a master’s degree in counseling psychology from the University of Notre Dame. She is the recipient of the 2017 IBPA gold medal for romance. She lives in Washington DC with her three children.
