Anna is a mafia princess who wants to do her part to help her family so as a teenager she agrees to marry Clifford when the time is right even though both of them know it is not a love match. Until then she is determined to live her own life which includes spending three years in Paris to study fashion. It also includes ensuring that Santino, her bodyguard and the man she has been crushing on comes with her even if it takes blackmail for him to agree.

When Anna’s father, his Capo, asked Santino to leave his position as an enforcer he didn’t know how to say no even if it was an assignment he didn’t want. He makes his displeasure and his feelings for Anna clear however when they find themselves in Paris the complications begin when he is conflicted between loyalty to her father and his feelings for her.

Both Anna and Santino know that giving in their feelings for each other could have deadly consequences, but they aren’t about to let that stand in their way as theirs is a love that can’t be denied. The narrators were a great choice for the characters as they brought out their personalities as well as the emotions they were feeling.
