Presley was Cage’s first and only love however it wasn’t the right time, so they ended up going their separate ways. It was during this time that Cage found out that he was going to be a father by a woman who wasn’t Presley, and that woman didn’t want to be part of their baby’s life. Since then, he has dedicated himself to being the best father he can be and his career as a vet until Presley returns to her hometown.
Presley has just ended a marriage she never should have had and has recently returned to Cottonwood Cove to be there for her father and distance herself from the situation. Their lives are entwined so there is no avoiding facing Cage, the past they shared and the unresolved feelings she has for him and the feelings she is developing for his daughter Gracie.
I really enjoyed how Presley, Cage and Gracie just fit together like pieces of a puzzle. Even though their lives are very different in the end all that really matters is the enduring love they share and how their hearts have always belonged to each other even if they weren’t together.
