Even though River has a difficult past he has found a home and people he considered family in Magnolia Falls. When he meets Ruby, the sparks fly and despite the antagonism between them their interactions are both humorous and hot. Their plans for the future are very different so a casual relationship seems like the best way to extinguish the heat between them but that is proving easier said than done.
When it comes to her family Ruby has always had to be the responsible one so it wasn’t surprising that she physically distanced herself from them but when her father needs her she doesn’t hesitate to drop everything to be there for him. River is a complication she not only wasn’t expect but she also wasn’t prepared for.
When River gave into his feels, he was all in and now he needs to not only convince Ruby but show her that she no longer has to face her future and responsibilities alone. Ruby may have been more cautious but with the support of River I enjoyed seeing her become the woman she was destined to be and to have the future she never knew she wanted.
