Kat’s family has been at war with Mardraggons since before she was born, and it doesn’t show any signs of ebbing. When her brother finds out about the daughter Sylvie that he never knew he had it ties their families in a way that neither wanted. Despite the past she shares with Gabe, Kat decides to be a bridge between her brother and Gabe as it is best for her niece.
After the tragic death of his sister Gabe wants to maintain a relationship with his niece but due to his relationship with the Blackburns it will be difficult. Now he finds himself trying to deal with not only maintaining a relationship with Sylvie but trying to repair his damaged relationship with Kat as well.
Suspense, family drama and two star crossed lovers all combine into a wonderful story. The narrator’s portrayal of the characters as well as the rollercoaster of emotions they were feeling only made it better
