Addie has struggle to be respected and valued as a woman coach for a men’s baseball team is real. It is for this reason that she keeps people and especially men at a distance. When she is convinced to participate in a charity auction nothing goes as planned from the dress that refuses to let her go to Duncan, the man she shares a past with who bids on her and wants much more than the time he has won.
Duncan is the captain of the hockey team and one night with Addie was not enough. He isn’t about to repeat the mistakes of the past where he pushed for more than she was ready to give. This time around he will be patient and let their relationship develop at her pace even if their team and everyone they know do not seem to agree.
Addie and Duncan’s story is both fun and funny, but it still has all the feels as Duncan has always known how he felt about Addie and now it is finally their time. As always there is a wonderful ensemble of secondary characters who only make this story better.
