Jace believes that casual interactions with woman is all he can offer and all he deserves because of his past.  He has feelings for Aurora but only allows her so close before he pushes her away but seeing her with anyone else might break him more than anything he has experienced before.
Aurora has deep feelings for Jace but the closer she tries to get the more he pushes her away.  She has come to the painful realization that being together is a dream that will never materialize but moving forward is proving to be more difficult than she anticipated.
I enjoyed the development of Jace’s character as when it really mattered he acknowledged his feelings for Aurora however it wasn’t an enjoy journey filled with setbacks and emotion.
