Essie wants nothing to do with Adrian as not only did he leave her without an explanation or any further contact a decade earlier, but he was chosen for the job she believed she deserved. Needing a fresh start she moves back to her hometown where she is opening a legal office only to have those plans challenged when Adrian does the same thing.
The biggest regret that Adrian has is losing Essie and he wants to right the wrongs of the past. Returning to their hometown and taking over an existing law firm didn’t allow he and Essie to get off to the best start. He knows he has his work cut out for him, but it is a challenge that he has been waiting years to meet.
