To avoid the future that her father has planned for her that she doesn’t want Harper has left and is now homeless hoping that he won’t be able to help her. When a police officer approaches her she is afraid that he will send her back to father but instead he does the opposite.

While on patrol Nate comes across Harper and realizes she is not safe on the street. Once he hears her backstory he takes her back to his home and convinces her to stay with him until she is 18 and can control her life which is only two nights.
