Piper will do anything to protect Finn, her precocious son, and Nelly, her say it like it is grandmother. When an accident forces them to stay in Moonlit Ridge while her car is repaired she believes that she can distance herself from everyone, including Theo, the enticing man who rescued her, as she knows it is the best for everyone however before she realizes how it happened not only has he offered them a place to stay but is showing her that he is unlike any many she has ever known.
Theo tries to keep the demons of his past at bay by helping those that are the most vulnerable. When he comes across Piper and her family he soon realizes that there is a lot she isnāt saying and that only reinforces his needs to keep them safe. He is determined to show her that she can trust him with her heart and her life and will do whatever is necessary to protect them from the past that refuses to stay where it belongs.
This story is everything from the captivating characters to the suspense that keeps you on edge, to the found family they are surrounded with but especially the emotional connection that Theo has not only with Piper but with her family as well. Kit Swann brings out the conflict that Piper is feeling when it comes to the past and the present while Teddy Hamilton brings out the possessive and protective sides of Theo who will do anything for those he loves.
