Hockey’s most hated player just asked me to marry him.

Connor Grace is the league’s bad boy–and my best friend’s worst enemy.

He’s the fallen prince of a famous hotel chain dynasty.

Me? I’m the foster kid who grew up to be a librarian.

I never thought I’d end up in a marriage of convenience to make someone’s grandma happy, but here we are.

I have no plans to kiss my husband for any reason other than show.

I have no plans to fall in love with the arrogant man dressed in a custom suit hiding intricate tattoos.

But when we’re alone, he drops the mask he wears for the rest of the world.

He holds me like he means it when he says I’m his. And I want to believe him.

Too bad I learned early on that fairytales aren’t real, and nothing good lasts forever.

💜Review💜
Dred has overcome a difficult childhood and created a life for herself where she gets to fulfill her love of books by working as a librarian and she is best friends with Flip, a member of the Toronto Terror, and with the rest of the team as well. When everything she works for could be in jeopardy she agrees to a marriage of convenience not only for Connor but for his grandmother as well.

Connor’s upbringing couldn’t be more different than Connors’s, but his childhood was just as difficult, but his grandmother was always there for her. He would do anything for her and that includes pretending to be in a relationship with Dred even though it means that it could make his relationship with his teammates even more tenuous.

I enjoyed seeing Dred and Connor learn to trust each other with their secrets and their past. There is so much more to Connor than first appears and Dred is one of the few people to actually see past his demeanor to the man he is. Jason Clarke brings out the protector in Connor while Kat Auden shows us how strong and resilient Dred has always had to be.
