I’ve always been a good girl.  I listened to my parents, worked hard in school, and was always home by curfew.  I should be away at college, but a bad investment left my college fund cleared out.  I’m done chasing my parents’ pride and affection.  Why should I when I’m barely living off my paycheck and college feels like a point in the distance I’ll never reach?

Since finishing high Eliza has been going through the motions while she decides what comes next while facing pressure from her parents to attend college. When Kendrick returns home her future becomes much clearer and she is now going to follow her own path even if no one else seems to agree.

Kendrick was used to facing the disapproval of the town, so he knows that his return home isn’t going to be welcomed. After his father’s heart attack, he came back to help on the family ranch but once he meets Eliza that isn’t the only reason he is going to stay.

The feelings between Eliza and Kendrick was never in doubt and he isn’t about to let anyone hurt the woman he loves and gives her the strength to build the life that she wants not the life that others want for her.

Stella doesn’t have a lot of experience with family and Christmas is the season she would like to avoid. She now finds herself in Maine trying to convince Ridge, an irritated fisherman that he wants to sell some of his family’s land even though all previous attempts have failed.

Ridge wants nothing to do with selling his land or with Stella however fate by way of the weather had other ideas. As he finds himself having to spend time with her and including her in the holiday season will be surprising for them both.

The interactions between them are humorous, the attraction between them hot and I enjoyed seeing Stella realize what and who was missing from her life.
