Daniel and his son Roman are spending the summer at Mountain Laurel Cove as he doesn’t get to spend as much time as he would like during the season due to the demands of playing hockey professionally. Summer is managing the rental property they are staying in so when a plumbing issue arises she suggests they stay in her family home.

When her parents passed away Summer feels responsible for her family so it is important that Daniel and his son stay for the summer Both she and Daniel receive a setback to their careers so they come to an arrangement where they will pretend to be in a relationship where she will help him with his reputation, and he will help her with a rental property however there is nothing pretend about their feelings for each other.

Despite their very different lifestyles Daniel and Summer fit together like pieces of a puzzle and Roman just completed the story. The atmosphere of Mountain Laurel Cove has me wanting to visit and although they had a little angst you also believed they would find a way to get the future they both wanted. When he arrives in the ER where she works she gets to see his softer side and when she finally agrees to go out with him not only is the chemistry between them intense, but he is also thoughtful and caring and isn’t about to let her brother come between them.

Addie’s impressive resume as a goalie makes her the perfect choice to be the goalie coach even if it means she and JJ can no longer keep the distance between them. He was her best friend and first love until it took a heartbreaking turn and now not only is she is coach, but she finds herself living with him and his daughter Avery as well as other family.

JJ may regret the events that tore he and Addie apart, but he could never regret his daughter. Now that Addie is back in his life he wants a second chance however that would mean not only discussing where things went wrong but dealing with what happened and finding a path forward.

There is so much turmoil between Addie and JJ that could have been easily overcome but what is the fun in that. The living situation is entertaining, the banter is humorous, the emotion heartfelt, the chemistry intense and the relationship that Addie has with both JJ and Avery will touch your heart.
