The connection that he feels with Maddison is unexpected but one that he is determined to pursue and isn’t about to let the fact that they live in different cities or family drama stand in their way.
Maddison has goals that she wants to achieve and doesn’t want to be distracted from achieving them so she when she meets Ashton she doesn’t expect it to go further. When he comes to see her she realizes how deep her feelings for him really are especially when he needs someone the most.
Neither Ashton nor Maddison were looking for love however I enjoyed seeing them realize they were meant to be and were much stronger together than apart.
