Stormy is a woman who barely managed to escape her past and since then it has been a fight to stay ahead of it. She has found a place that is beginning to feel like home but due to her past she is cautious about her boss’s possessive nature and is determined to protect those she cares about from the secrets of her past.

Torin is also damaged by the events of his past but as much as he knows he needs to distance himself from Stormy he can’t. He is determined to protect her and is jealous of any other man’s attention, but he realizes that is pushing her away rather than bringing her closer. When the danger of her past resurfaces, he will do whatever is necessary to keep her safe.

Both Torin and Stormy bear the scars of the past, but they also understand each other in a way that few others would. The chemistry between them was intense but it was the way they trusted each other with their past that made their relationship so special. I enjoyed the performance of the narrators as they only made this romantic and suspenseful story better.

Jill is a Texan, born and raised. She manages the hectic social calendars for her three active children and occasionally spends an evening with her dashing husband. Aside from being an author and a mom, she’s a travel junkie and loves to read when she is not lost in her own stories.

With Jill’s books, you can count on confident heroines, plenty of steamy tension, and deliciously assertive leading men. Jaxson has been trying to deny his feelings for Grace as not only is she his teammate’s sister but there is also the age difference between them to consider. Except for one slip he has been doing well until he finds her hurt and alone after a breakup. He will do anything to bring her smile back and that includes a road trip that will change both their lives.

Grace has feelings for Jaxson as well but her attempts to get closer to him are met with resistance. When the embark on a road trip together the forced proximity allows them to trust each other and get to know who the other truly is and the fast-approaching expiry date when they will have to return is looming ever closer whether they want it to or not.

I so enjoyed seeing Grace and Jaxson block out all the reasons that they shouldn’t be together and just share the time that they had. The banter was entertaining and the way they supported each other was heartwarming as they realize they are exactly what the other needs in their life.

Even though the actions that brought Lily into Jameson’s life weren’t ideal she might just be the best thing to ever happen to him. The feelings he was developing for her were unexpected so he makes a decision thinking it will distance her from him however he hadn’t expected her to become his savior.

Lily can’t deny the feelings she has for Jameson, so she isn’t about to leave him to the fate he has chosen, and that decision only becomes stronger as she begins to realize that everything, he says might be true even if her heart doesn’t want to agree.

The chemistry between them burns stronger but we now get to see the deepening emotional connection between them as well. His family is supportive as always and they will need it after that cliffhanger.
