Serena knows that her career as a romance author has attracted the attention of the wrong person even if no one believes her.    Her attempts to get help from law enforcement are not successful which is how she finds herself at McKay-Taggart.   When she meets Adam and Jacob they too doubt her claims but when Ian finds out he assigns them to keep her safe.

Adam and Jacob have very different personalities who are best friends who share everything including their careers and women.   When they find themselves protecting Serena they doubt the danger she appears to be in but as they spend time together they see the side of her she keeps private and soon realize she is the woman they have both been waiting for and now they must find a way to keep her safe.

The chemistry between the three of them is electric, the banter is entertaining, the suspense is intriguing and the emotional connection that Serena, Adam and Jacob share is heartwarming.   I listened to the audio copy of this story and Ryan West did a wonderful job bringing out the personality of the characters as well the relationships between them.

The relationship that Jensen has with Poppy was strained by Hassie, who was not only her friend but is also the mother of Jensen’s son Auggie.
