with elements of Suspense
A small mountain town where no one knows her seems like the perfect escape.
A man battling the ghosts of his past.
Walker loves his life just the way it is. His town, his family, his brothers in
blue. Everything simple and easy—until a chance encounter changes it all.
When Taylor’s solitude is interrupted by the rugged cop, they find that the
very thing they were avoiding might be just what they both need. As their iron
wills clash and passion flares…a killer lurks.
And you never know who might be caught in the crosshairs.
words. Drinker of Diet Cokes. Lover of all things cute and furry, especially
her dog. Catherine has had her nose in a book since the time she could read and
finally decided to write down some of her own stories. When she’s not writing
she can be found exploring her home state of Oregon, listening to true
crime podcasts, or searching for her next book boyfriend.
The death of Taylor’s mother leaves her reeling and all she wants is to be alone so that she can grieve in private. What starts out as a vacation in Sutter Lake starts to feel like home, so she decides to stay and now finds herself with a job, a home and a new friend Jensen.
Walker is a police officer, Jensen’s brother and his family is renting Taylor her home. He has a painful past of his own and in Taylor he senses a kindred spirit and he is drawn to her in a way he never expected.
He and his family are determined to scale the walls she has built around herself one brick at a time and she finds herself becoming part of their family. The only dark spot on the happiness that Taylor and Walker have found is the danger that surrounds the town seems to be escalating and will they or those they love be the next victims?
This is an emotional story of healing, love and new beginnings. The connection and chemistry between Walker and Taylor is off the charts which combined with the suspense part of the story will have you wishing this story didn’t end. This is the first book in a new series, and I can’t wait for the next installment.
