to. But when my world came crashing down, it was all because of her family. From that moment, I realized I’d been wrong to trust her. Her big caring eyes
and sweet face were nothing but an act as she’d watched on while I tried to
keep my head above water.
That was our past.
Now, I’ve largely put Camila behind me and moved on with my life. Though it
doesn’t explain why she’s always there: taunting me, tempting me, showing me
the life I could have been living.
I should have been laughing when her own world turned upside down. Karma always
wins out in the end. But suddenly we’re forced together once again and I have
no choice but to remember the girl I’ve tried so hard to forget.
Thorn was only 14 when his life was forever changed and although he was much to young to carry the burden that was thrust upon him, he had no choice. Part of what he lost that day was his best friend Camila as his teenage self directed responsibility to the wrong person, and since that time he has done everything possible to make her life as difficult as possible.
Camila doesn’t understand what happened between her and Thorn but the one thing she does know is she can’t trust him. What she doesn’t realize is that even though he is determined to hurt her at every turn when he finds out other people are, he can’t just stand by.
It was fun watching the interactions between them as underneath the disdain they showed each other is a very different feeling that they aren’t willing to acknowledge either to each other or themselves. Full of emotion and angst Thorn and Camilla’s journey was far from easy but that only made it that much better.
