Bringing Down the House, an all new crazy meets gorgeous rom com from USA Today bestselling author A.R. Casella is available now!

Can two anti-heroes save the dayâŚand each other?
Nicole
People think Iâm crazyâŚespecially my ex-boyfriends. I prefer the term misunderstood. Still, thereâs no denying I have a stunning ability to make bad decisionsâŚlike seducing the lead actor of the theater company where I just accepted a job.
An HR job.
In my defense, Damien Mitchell is the most gorgeous man alive, and worse, heâs interesting. Besides, Iâm ninety percent sure my new boss up to something shady. Why should I behave if she wonât? I fully intend to find out what sheâs doing, but in the meantime Iâm reeled in by Damienâs charm, his secrets, and also his problems. Because he isnât just a fantastic actor at a crappy theater, andâ
Well, itâs his secret. But Iâm going to help him with it and with saving the theater. Whether he wants me to or not.

Damien
Iâm the only child of two rich narcissists. Iâm used to being alone. I like it.
But Nicoleâs not the kind of woman who can be kept at a distance. Worse, I donât want to stay away. She sets my blood on fire and pisses me offâŚand makes me feel alive in a way Iâd only experienced onstage.
I tell her my secrets. I show her my scars. I let her in.
Weâre both screwed up, so thereâs every chance weâll destroy each other, but sheâs not the only one whoâs prone to bad decisions.
A full-length standalone prequel to the Bad Luck Club series!

Nicole
âThis is the problem with you, Gary,â I say, warming to the topic. âYou let other people impose limitations on you. You need to free your mind, Damienâs friend.â
Gary opens and closes his mouth a few times, like a fish marooned on shore, and then takes a long sip of his tea. From the way he grimaces, it tastes about as good as it smells, like a licorice candy thatâs spent years in someoneâs junk drawer.
He fires a look at Damien. âRemember what I said to you.â
Damien gives a nod. âI remember. Doesnât mean I agree.â
âYouâre obviously talking about me,â I say, annoyed. âYou could at least be subtle about it. What have I ever done to you, Gary? Is this about the pretzel Goldfish? Because I wonât bend on that. Theyâre an abomination.â
Gary gives me a wary look. âYouâre a loose cannon.â
âWhat is this? The Revolutionary War?â
âItâs a common phrase,â he says, doubling down. He adjusts the hideous wire-rimmed glasses.
âDo you need those glasses? What are your thoughts on contact lenses?â
âYouâre changing the subject.â
I give a haughty sniff. âI donât feel like talking about the Revolutionary War.â
Gary practically growls, turning to look at Damien. âSheâs impossible.â
Damien smiles a little, amused. âThatâs why I like her. Nowââhe casts a sideways glance at me, his mouth lifting a little higher, before shifting his gaze back to Garyââwhat are your thoughts on contact lenses?â
âScrew you,â Gary says, but he looks a little amused at least. Thatâs Damien for you. He has a weird ability to charm people, and he doesnât even seem to be fully aware of it.
I dart a glance at him.
Nah, he knows.
âIâm going to make this happen for you,â I tell Gary. âMark my words. What you do with the date is up to you, but Iâm going to get it lined up for you. So long as you get contact lenses and cut your hair. Are you open to cutting your hair? My mom is a hairdresser. Sheâll do it for you.â
He sighs, and for a second, I think heâs going to make more comments about loose cannons and the comparative non- craziness of Damienâs ex-girlfriend, but instead he just nods.
Excitement sparks through me. âYou are not going to regret this, Gary.â
âI already do. Iâm more regret than person at this point, really.â
đ§ĄReviewđ§Ą
Although Nicole comes across as bold and brash with a boisterous personality there is so much more to her than first appears. She has learnt that letting people too close seldom ends well and learning about her past allows us to see what shaped her into the woman she is. She is conflicted as she knows she needs to keep her distance from Damian but that is proving to be easier said than done.
Damian is an actor who finds himself working with Nicole. He is a man who doesnât let anyone too close as he has secrets he wants to keep but there is something about Nicole that has him acting and feeling things he has never felt before. Having the opportunity to see behind his demeanor only makes him that much more appealing.
Nicole and Damian are perfect for each other both when it comes to their past experiences and the present. Their interactions are humorous, and they make the perfect team in all aspects of their lives.
