The problem with Wake was that he was understandable. He was the type of villain that literally scared the absolute shit out of you because you knew that under the right circumstances, you could end up exactly like him.
Which, sadly, was the case for me.

Wake doesn’t regret the actions that resulted in an eight-year prison sentence, and he knows that he would make the same choice again. When Dutch visits him in prison, he is intrigued by her and understands her in a way that few people would so when he is released early it wasn’t a matter of if he would see her again but rather when.
Dutch is determined to help those who need it the most regardless of the danger it puts her in. When she meets Wake again after he is released from jail the sparks fly and they are determined to protect each other as the danger escalates while they try to uncover the truth.
Wake is determined in his pursuit of Dutch and his need to protect her while Dutch is feisty and quickly becomes part of his family. Witty banter, hot chemistry and suspense as Dutch and Wake prove they are perfect for each other in every way.
