Mary is strong and independent in large part because of the turmoil her teenage heart experienced. She wants nothing to do with Leo and would be happy if she never had to think about him or the past but fate has other ideas. Her attempts to ignore him backfire when not only does she draw his attention but circumstances have them becoming temporary roommates.

Leo is more accustomed to being the person want to be around rather than the person they want to push away. He is attracted to Mary and doesn’t understand why she isn’t falling for his charm but he is about to find out that there is a lot going on that he doesn’t know and Mary isn’t about to just forgive and forget.

Based on the past Mary believes she knows who Leo is but she realizes that she doesn’t know him at all while Leo knows Mary is special and isn’t about to walk away without a fight.
