EXCERPT:
โLiza, I hope you know this is realโฆ between usโฆ you and meโฆโ he says as he plays with my fingers.
โIโm glad to hear you say that. I feel the same way. I thank God every day that you fell on that trail.โ
That makes him laugh. โYes, best fall Iโve ever had.โ
He sits up to look me in the eyes. โI donโt know where my future is heading, but I know I want you in it.โ
I place my palm on his cheek. โAnd I want you in mine.โ
When his lips meet mine, itโs with a sense of finality. Sealed with a kiss has nothing on with how intense my feelings are right now. We might as well have said our vows to one another and combined our hearts for eternity.
Iโve heard people say when you find the one, you just know. Well, I know, without a doubt, I have found my soulmate.
He moves his lips from mine and stands, reaching out his hand to me to help me get up as well. Jolts of electricity race through me as I place my hand in his, and he helps me up, only to pick me up and walk me back to the tent we have set up.
Once weโre both in, I waste no time in removing his sweatshirt, then my own shirt to reveal I never put on a bra. I want to make it very clear what my intentions are with him right now and leave him with zero thoughts that this might not happen.
Right now, I want nothing but himโevery part of him.
Blurb:
Nothing blurs the line between right and wrong faster than loveโฆ
Liza
I met the perfect man when I moved to the small town of Mason Creek.
He was everything I ever wantedโsweet, sexy, protective. I fell fast and hard.
Then I found out heโs a senior in high school.
And heโs one of my students.
I should walk away. Being with him could burn my life to the ground.
Trouble is, Iโm starting to think it might be worth itโฆ
Eli
I didnโt have time for romance. Between school and sports, I was too busy.
Until I met her.
I know Iโm younger than her. I know student/teacher relationships are forbidden.
And none of that matters when Iโm with Liza.
Soon, Iโll be a professional baseball player and the tiny age gap between us wonโt matter. We will have our happily ever after.
Assuming I can keep the disapproving world from breaking us apart firstโฆ
How We Fooled, book 3 in the Leighton River series, is a forbidden, secret, new adult/sports romance with plenty of emotional and angsty moments and some spicy times.

EXCERPT:
We all just about jump out of our seats when all of our phones spout off an alert.
โWhat the hell is that?โ Riley asks, pulling her phone from โฆ her bra.
Fuuuuck.
โLockdown alert from the Czar of Skan Town.
โWhat?โ Riley asks, reading over her screen.
โYouโre not in Blue Valley anymore,โ he says in a Dorothy from Oz voice.
โThe roads are that crappy?โ She walks over toward the wall of windows, looking out to the lake. โI have a Jeep, and itโs not even snowing anymore. He canโt shut down the roads.โ
โShe can,โ he states.
โFuck her,โ Riley huffs.
We immediately hear a ting, ting, ting begin as ice begins to hit the glass.
โThis is not happening,โ she grumbles.
โWorse places to have to stay the night. Backup generator if power goes out is the bonus.โ
โI have that at my place, too,โ she huffs.
โI, uh, yeah, Iโm gonna head to bed,โ I grumble as I start moving past them, sending Mom a text to make sure sheโs good.
โIโm not trying to be a bitch. I just donโt want a fight with Brett,โ she says.
I turn around and look at her. โIf the man whoโs going to be vowing to love you forever gets pissed because youโre not driving on shit roads, heโs an asshole, Riley.โ
She shakes her head. โI didnโt tell him I was coming to Skaneateles.โ
I hold out my phone. โSo, call him and tell him.โ
She shakes her head again. โHeโs asleep. He has classes tomorrow. A, um, test, and he needs to sleep.โ
I cross my arms and look at her, waiting for her to catch on that Iโm not buying that shit. She crosses her arms and looks right in my eyes, saying not a fucking thing.
โI should keep my mouth shut and not point out that I see what youโre doing, and it sucks you have toโโI mock gaspโโbut oops, I already did.โ
โAn NFL fuck boy giving me relationship advice?โ She holds her hands to her chest and sighs dreamily. โLet me grab my pen.โ She reaches into her pocket and pulls out โฆ her middle finger.
The fact my dick jumps at that makes me realize how fucking happy I am that I donโt listen to my dick about chicks.
โYouโre infuriatingly adorable, Riley,โ I relent. โI just hope he fucking deserves you.โ I donโt wait for a response as I turn I tell her, โThe rooms next to Lilyโs are free. The sheets and linens are clean. Please control your primal urge to head down the hall to my room. And try to keep me out of your dreams tonight, Brooksie.โ
โOh, please.โ She forces a laugh that wraps really loosely around the word, โEgomaniac.โ
