EXCERPT:
βLiza, I hope you know this is realβ¦ between usβ¦ you and meβ¦β he says as he plays with my fingers.
βIβm glad to hear you say that. I feel the same way. I thank God every day that you fell on that trail.β
That makes him laugh. βYes, best fall Iβve ever had.β
He sits up to look me in the eyes. βI donβt know where my future is heading, but I know I want you in it.β
I place my palm on his cheek. βAnd I want you in mine.β
When his lips meet mine, itβs with a sense of finality. Sealed with a kiss has nothing on with how intense my feelings are right now. We might as well have said our vows to one another and combined our hearts for eternity.
Iβve heard people say when you find the one, you just know. Well, I know, without a doubt, I have found my soulmate.
He moves his lips from mine and stands, reaching out his hand to me to help me get up as well. Jolts of electricity race through me as I place my hand in his, and he helps me up, only to pick me up and walk me back to the tent we have set up.
Once weβre both in, I waste no time in removing his sweatshirt, then my own shirt to reveal I never put on a bra. I want to make it very clear what my intentions are with him right now and leave him with zero thoughts that this might not happen.
Right now, I want nothing but himβevery part of him.
Blurb:
Nothing blurs the line between right and wrong faster than loveβ¦
Liza
I met the perfect man when I moved to the small town of Mason Creek.
He was everything I ever wantedβsweet, sexy, protective. I fell fast and hard.
Then I found out heβs a senior in high school.
And heβs one of my students.
I should walk away. Being with him could burn my life to the ground.
Trouble is, Iβm starting to think it might be worth itβ¦
Eli
I didnβt have time for romance. Between school and sports, I was too busy.
Until I met her.
I know Iβm younger than her. I know student/teacher relationships are forbidden.
And none of that matters when Iβm with Liza.
Soon, Iβll be a professional baseball player and the tiny age gap between us wonβt matter. We will have our happily ever after.
Assuming I can keep the disapproving world from breaking us apart firstβ¦
How We Fooled, book 3 in the Leighton River series, is a forbidden, secret, new adult/sports romance with plenty of emotional and angsty moments and some spicy times.

EXCERPT:
We all just about jump out of our seats when all of our phones spout off an alert.
βWhat the hell is that?β Riley asks, pulling her phone from β¦ her bra.
Fuuuuck.
βLockdown alert from the Czar of Skan Town.
βWhat?β Riley asks, reading over her screen.
βYouβre not in Blue Valley anymore,β he says in a Dorothy from Oz voice.
βThe roads are that crappy?β She walks over toward the wall of windows, looking out to the lake. βI have a Jeep, and itβs not even snowing anymore. He canβt shut down the roads.β
βShe can,β he states.
βFuck her,β Riley huffs.
We immediately hear a ting, ting, ting begin as ice begins to hit the glass.
βThis is not happening,β she grumbles.
βWorse places to have to stay the night. Backup generator if power goes out is the bonus.β
βI have that at my place, too,β she huffs.
βI, uh, yeah, Iβm gonna head to bed,β I grumble as I start moving past them, sending Mom a text to make sure sheβs good.
βIβm not trying to be a bitch. I just donβt want a fight with Brett,β she says.
I turn around and look at her. βIf the man whoβs going to be vowing to love you forever gets pissed because youβre not driving on shit roads, heβs an asshole, Riley.β
She shakes her head. βI didnβt tell him I was coming to Skaneateles.β
I hold out my phone. βSo, call him and tell him.β
She shakes her head again. βHeβs asleep. He has classes tomorrow. A, um, test, and he needs to sleep.β
I cross my arms and look at her, waiting for her to catch on that Iβm not buying that shit. She crosses her arms and looks right in my eyes, saying not a fucking thing.
βI should keep my mouth shut and not point out that I see what youβre doing, and it sucks you have toββI mock gaspββbut oops, I already did.β
βAn NFL fuck boy giving me relationship advice?β She holds her hands to her chest and sighs dreamily. βLet me grab my pen.β She reaches into her pocket and pulls out β¦ her middle finger.
The fact my dick jumps at that makes me realize how fucking happy I am that I donβt listen to my dick about chicks.
βYouβre infuriatingly adorable, Riley,β I relent. βI just hope he fucking deserves you.β I donβt wait for a response as I turn I tell her, βThe rooms next to Lilyβs are free. The sheets and linens are clean. Please control your primal urge to head down the hall to my room. And try to keep me out of your dreams tonight, Brooksie.β
βOh, please.β She forces a laugh that wraps really loosely around the word, βEgomaniac.β
