Remi is a struggling single mom who is trying to ensure the animal shelter she manages remains open while being there for her son Gavin and her grandfather. The last thing she needs if for an entitled professional football player to be mandated to volunteer at the shelter due to the damage he caused after he was charged with driving under the influence.
Archer appears to be living the dream however h has a reputation for being grumpy and closed off as the only person he allows close is his sister. He is willing to do whatever Remi asks however the more time he spends with Remi the closer he gets to both her and her son.
I enjoyed learning the backstory of Archer which allowed us to see that there are no limits when it comes to those he cares about while Remi is doing the best she can with the challenges that life throws at her. The banter is humorous and the way they opened up to each other was heartwarming. Stephen Dexter and CJ Bloom bring out all the aspects of Remi and Archer’s personalities as well as the emotions they were feeling.
