Meet Brooke O’Brien:

Brooke O’Brien grew up with a creative mind and a wild imagination, writing poetry and short stories when she was younger. This passion ignited when she began reading angst and hate-fueled stories about vampires and werewolves before she branched into contemporary and new adult romances.

When Brooke isn’t writing or falling in love with a new book boyfriend, you can find her scrolling TikTok, watching ASMR, or devouring her latest binge-worthy TV show.

She loves rockin’ a good hoodie with leggings, is addicted to chocolate, and believes the best days include a good nap.

Blurb:

A close proximity sports romance by Brooke O’Brien about a woman who’s spent her life playing it safe and her brother’s ex-teammate who risks it all for the chance to spend a week with her.

I’ve been told to stay away from football players my whole life. Dating one was out of the question. That’s what happens when your brother warns his teammates you’re off-limits.

It wasn’t just him—my parents controlled every move I made throughout high school. Now, with graduation behind me, the life I’ve been planning with my best friend is finally coming together.

✓ Find an apartment

✓ Soak up every ounce of freedom

Everything was going perfectly until I arrived to pick up our new apartment keys and discovered water damage made it temporarily uninhabitable. My brother, Alec, would offer me his couch, I’m sure, but that’s not an option I’m willing to consider.

I want to prove to myself I can handle this on my own. So when Colter Vaughn, the football team captain and Alec’s former teammate, suggests I stay with him, I happily agree.

Except he failed to mention one small detail—the room he’s offering is his.

I’ve spent my life playing it safe. If keeping this secret means I get to share a bed with Colter, it’s a risk I’m willing to take.

Between her father and her brother Ava has been sheltered so attending Braysen University is her chance to chart her own course.   She thought she had it all planned out from joining the dance team to the place she is renting with her best friend.   The only setback she hadn’t account for is that her residence isn’t ready for occupancy, so Colter suggests she stay at his place until it is.

Colter is the captain of the football team and used to be teammates with her brother.   From their first meeting he knew that Ava was special, so when she finds herself with nowhere to stay he not only helps her with storing her belongings but offers her his room as well.  Spending time with her only intensifies his feelings for her and the only regret he has is that she is only staying for a week.

Colter and Ava fit together like pieces of the puzzle and romance between them is both heartwarming and hot.  Lee Samuels brings out the protective side of Colter while Stphanie Kay brings out Ava’s resilience.   This is the beginning of a new series that leaves us wanting more stories centered around Braysen University.
