Locke is a skilled defenseman for the Portland Wildfire, but he also has a temper that can be set off without warning which is placing his position with the team in jeopardy. He is a man with a tumultuous pass who guards his secrets and he certainly isn’t about to share them during the mandated sessions with Livia however the feelings he has for her are making that difficult.
Livia has been hired by the team to help the players enhance their performance. For most of the players it is voluntary however that is not the case when it comes to Locke. She knows that she will have to use unconventional methods to break through his walls however spending time with him allows her to see beyond his closed off persona to a man who is carrying a weight that is slowly breaking him.
Learning about Locke’s past brings an emotional aspect to the story which combined with the growing relationship he forms with team, a little suspense and a heartwarming romance draw you in and will have you invested in the outcome. Samantha Summer brings out the strength and feisty sides of Livia while Alistair Haynesbridge brings out the tortured protector in Locke.
