LARA

For the first time in my life, I’m putting down roots.  I came to Dogwood Ridge hoping to witness my sister grow up and taking responsibility for her life, but instead I found a place to call home.  I’ve finally opened my bakery and am thriving.  But I should have learned from the past and expected the drama that always comes with Lola.

Playboy catches my eye, but a hot biker isn’t what my life needs.  When I find out he’s a jerk who has been listening to the snake hissing in his ear, I’m not surprised.  Lola has a way about her.  While my sister proves her worth to the Saint’s Outlaws MC on her back, I raise her daughter as my own.  Playboy can’t see my sister for what she is or recognize her lies, which means he hasn’t earned my secrets. 

But my secrets aren’t destined to stay hidden in the shadows forever.  When the truth comes out, Playboy realizes his mistake, but I’m sure it’s too late for everything between us to be washed away.  He owes me more than an apology and penance must be made.  When he truly sets out to claim me, I don’t stand a chance.  But can we survive the turmoil my sister loves to stir up, or will Playboy be just another man who lets me down?

My road name isn’t some ironic turn of phrase; I earned my name honestly and I’m proud of it.  I learned early on that women can’t be relied on.  The only people who will always have your back are your brothers.  And I have the best brothers; we’re bound by blood, leather, and our loyalty to the Saint’s Outlaws MC.

The new baker in town is too pretty for my own good, but there’s someone whispering in my ear about all the things Lara would rather hide.  As I learn about Lara, I can’t help but dislike the woman.  She doesn’t deserve the little girl who worships her because it’s at the expense of the truth.

Turns out, one woman was spewing lies while the other was living life the best way she knows how—by baking and singing at the top of her lungs with the little girl who calls her mommy.  Now I need to make it right because she was always real, which means what I feel for her just might be real too.  I’m claiming my woman and getting a family I never thought I wanted.  I’ll survive purgatory to have it; then I’ll never let go.

Lara relocated to Dogwood Ridge in the hopes that she and her daughter Vanessa could reunite with her estranged sister.   Instead of that outcome she now finds herself facing the wrath of Playboy, a member of the MC, for what he believes is the truth until she reaches a breaking point and decides to set him straight and hoped to never see her again.

Playboy has a perception of Lara and every interaction they have he makes his opinion of her very apparent.   When he realizes how wrong he has been he wants to make amends with both Lara and Vanessa which he knows won’t be easy.

Lara isn’t about to just forgive and forget but Playboy is both patient and thoughtful as he shows Lara and Vanessa that they are meant to be a family and isn’t about to let anything stand in their way.
