When Callie finds herself between jobs it seems like the perfect opportunity to spend time with her sisters and to help with the changes they are planning to Loveland Ranch. Her decision to go and arrange payment of a past due ticket at the courthouse must have been fate as it brought Luke and his son Scout into her life when she impulsively agreed to pretend they were engaged.
Luke is battling for custody of his son Scout and there is nothing he wouldn’t do for him. This is why he finds himself pretending to be engaged to Callie however what he wasn’t prepared for was the light she brought into their lives or the way that she captured both of their hearts. The only problem is that their engagement and her time in town was only temporary.
This is a heartwarming story about love and family with all the feels. Callie is a woman who protects her heart by never getting attached to people or places while Luke’s roots are firmly planted because of his son however it was so rewarding to see Callie, Luke and Scout realize that they belong together.
