Colby is a private man who doesn’t allow many people close and doesn’t always say the right thing. He is having challenges adjusting to his new team and in particular Donovan and if that doesn’t change it could impact his future with them. He knows that he should keep his distance from Jackie, Donovan’s sister, however when their paths cross in the most unlikely way he is drawn to her in a way he never expected.
With her personal and professional life in turmoil Jackie is now staying with her brother. She has a preconceived idea of Colby from her brother, but when a chance encounter brings them together she realizes that man she sees and the way he presents himself to everyone else is very different. She doesn’t believe that she is ready to let anyone into her life which only ups the angst between them.
Although the reasons are very different both Colby and Jackie bear the emotional scars of the past and are both hesitant and cautious. It was so rewarding to see them break through the walls they have both built and realize that what they share is worth fighting for.
