Penn left his hometown years earlier and the only reason he has returned is to close the chapter on his previous life here so that he never has to return. His plans are about to take a U-turn when he sees his childhood friend and realizes that she deserves better than the life she is about to embark on. He wants to protect her even if she doesn’t recognize the man he has become from the boy she used to know.
Daisy will do anything for those she cares about which includes agreeing to a marriage with a man she does not really want. When she sees Penn, she is conflicted by the feelings she has for him and the way he makes her feel as her future has already been planned out.
You cannot help but love Daisy as she always puts the needs of everyone else and Penn is exactly who she needs as he shows her that she deserves to be happy as well. The banter between them is entertaining and the romance is enchanting as Penn and Daisy find the happiness and love they both deserve.
