Amy fell in love with Brennan when they were in college until a devastating event left her resulted in Brennan not only choosing his career over her but wasn’t even willing to listen. In the years since she has created a new life for herself so when he moves to her hometown she is cautious about letting him back into her life.
When an injury ends Brennan’s career he relocates to Amy’s hometown not realizing that she was living there. Seeing her again he realizes that he has always loved her and now he just wants her to know how much he regrets that choice and wants to become the man she has always deserved.
Amy is very forgiving when it comes to the past and Brennan owns his mistakes and is determined to make changes to understand why he did what he did and work for a second chance with Amy.
