Renee Harless is a USA TODAY bestselling author with an affinity for wine and a passion for telling a good story.
Renee Harless, her husband, and children live in Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. She studied Communication, specifically Public Relations, at Radford University.
Growing up, Renee always found a way to pursue her creativity. It began by watching endless runs of White Christmas – yes even in the summer – and learning every word and dance from the movie. She could still sing “Sister Sister” if requested. In high school she joined the show choir and a community theatre group, The Troubadours. After marrying the man of her dreams and moving from her hometown, she sought out a different artistic outlet – writing.
To say that Renee is a romance addict would be an understatement. When she isn’t chasing her kids around the house, working her day job, or writing, she jumps head first into a romance novel.

Lark Carrington came to Coral Bell Cove for a fresh start. A fading inn, a quiet life, and a chance to rebuild something steady after everything she’s lost. She didn’t expect her first real connection to come in the middle of chaos.
Holt Wright is used to being underestimated—long before he ever put on a uniform. The easygoing one. The goofball. The brother no one expected much from. Until he became a firefighter. Now, when the alarm sounds, he’s the one people trust when it matters most.
The one who shows up.
The one who stays.
Even for her.
What begins as a single moment—smoke, heat, and the steady presence of the man who pulled her back from the edge—turns into something neither of them can ignore. Long days restoring the Carrington Inn. Late nights that feel a little too honest. A connection that builds slowly… and burns deeper than either of them expected.
Because Lark doesn’t trust easily. And Holt is still learning what it means to be the man people finally believe in.
And when the past Lark tried to outrun starts to catch up with her… they’ll have to decide if this is just a spark—or something worth risking everything for.
At First Spark is a tender, slow-burn small-town romance about healing, showing up, and discovering that sometimes the person who saves you… is the one you choose to stay for.
💛Review💛 Lark wants to honor her father in the only way she knows how which is to renovate the Carrington Inn into the property he always wanted it to be. As a result, she has moved to Coral Bell Cove however her plans take a detour due to a fire however Holt is there to give her a hand when she needs someone the most.
Being a firefighter has changed Holt however when it comes to his family and the town they don’t always see beyond his past to the man he has become. When Lark needs help he doesn’t hesitate to step in and offer her a place to stay. As they spend time together the feelings between them deepen and the way they support each other when the suspense amps up is everything.
This is a fulfilling small-town romance that develops over time as Lark and Holt get to know each other and the events that shaped them into the people they have become. A little suspense and all the feels as these two people find the love they deserve and are surrounded by a charming group of secondary characters.

Clover I have a system for airports. Coffee, carbs, a wall to put my back against. It’s a good system. It did not survive Heath. He was two seats over on the last plane of the worst travel day of my life. Older, silver-foxed to an unreasonable degree, and looking at me like he had nowhere else to be. By landing I’d told him about every job I’d ever lost and my personal theory about sobbing widows. He laughed at all of it. The real kind, with the lines at the corners of his eyes and everything. One thing led to another. It was the best night of my life. And then I found out he was the father of my sister’s groom. Here’s the thing about being me: I have a long and distinguished history of fleeing before things become something. But Heath is standing in my hotel room telling me this wasn’t nothing, and somewhere between a plane over the Atlantic and a wedding reception dance floor, I think I may have done the one thing I’ve never managed. I didn’t run.
Heath I saw her in the airport before we boarded. Wild red curls, dragging her carry-on sideways like she’d given up on the wheels entirely. By the time we landed I knew she was the most interesting person I’d met in years. By the time I got her to my suite and held her while she cried about a travel day that would have broken most people, I knew she was more than that. I’ve made one significant mistake in my life. I married a woman I didn’t love, and I spent years paying for it. The only thing worth keeping from that marriage was my son. I raised Leo to be careful with his heart. I am apparently less good at following my own advice. She’s the maid of honor. I’m the best man. Our family members are getting married. This is, by any reasonable measure, a complication. I’ve never been less interested in being reasonable.

❤️Review Traveling to the wedding she is arranging for her sister has turned into a tiresome day with the only bright spot being Heath, a fellow passenger. The situation at the hotel doesn’t appear to be much better as her reservation is for the following but it might just be the best accident to happen when Heath offers to have her stay with him.
Heath was enchanted by Clover when he met her at the airport and spending some time with her on flight only reinforced it. When fate has them staying in the same room the sparks fly and things couldn’t be going better until she finds out that his son is marrying her sister. Let the fun begin!
I really enjoyed that the angst was low as all parties involved only wanted the others to be happy and they aren’t about to let the age gap or their complicated family situation come between their love.
I had to destroy the boy I loved. I ended up destroying myself.
But no well-intended deed ever goes unpunished.
I thought I could set him free by letting him go. Until a tragedy sends me racing to Gabriel Blake- the boy I was once forced to betray.
But his anger and its smoldering embers haven’t yet subsided enough for him to listen to me. Instead of running from his fire, I find myself with a need to feel It, desperate to be burned. Because I deserve to pay for what I did.

Dart Rivers is my ex-husband, or so I thought.
Three years ago, he drove out of our small town to chase racing dreams, leaving me and my broken heart in his rearview mirror.
Couple goals and shattered promises brought feelings of failure on both our parts.

Enter Dart Rivers again.
An accident on the track leads to him sneaking into the house, crashing on my couch, and announcing he’s still mine.

He’s her PR nightmare. She’s his forbidden fantasy. Falling in love was never part of the game.
Tank Phillips scores big – on the ice and everywhere else. But when a wild night with two puck bunnies explodes across social media, the team’s golden boy becomes a PR disaster. Benched, blasted, and one headline away from tanking his career, he’s handed one last chance: Fix your image…with a wholesome fake girlfriend.
McKenna Bailey never signed up for this.
She’s the Stingrays’ brand-new social media manager – more comfortable with analytics dashboards than athletes – and now she’s stuck babysitting the team’s most notorious bad boy. Tank calls her mouse, forgets her name, and grins like he’s allergic to consequences.
But pretending to date him?
That’s a level of chaos even her spreadsheets can’t save her from.
Yet the closer they fake it, the harder it gets to deny the spark snapping to life between them. Tank’s charm isn’t supposed to work on a good girl…especially a good girl who’s never taken a risk like this before.
McKenna has her own secret – one that could blow everything up: she’s the estranged daughter of Coach Fields.
When the truth comes out, Coach delivers Tank a stern warning – stay away from my daughter.
Too bad Tank’s always been better at breaking rules than following them–especially when the one thing he wants most is finally within reach.
